We are honoured to have Paul Sweetman, CEO, American Chamber of Commerce Ireland, speak to us on April 7th 2025. Paul has just returned from the US and will talk to us on the latest Geopolitical Engagements between the EU & US and what this means for Ireland. He will focus on the role Ireland should play and our strategy for the coming 12 months to allow the Irish-US economic relationship flourish.

Paul Sweetman, CEO, American Chamber of Commerce

Paul leads AmCham to ensure Ireland is a location where US FDI thrives, alongside supporting the growth of Irish companies as they expand in the US.

He joined AmCham from the public affairs consultancy Instinctif Partners, where he was Managing Partner. Prior to this, Paul worked with Ibec, holding numerous roles including Director of Financial Services Ireland, Director of Technology Ireland, Head of Transport & Public-Private Partnership Policy, and Environment Policy Executive. Paul has served as a board member of the Irish President’s Award, Digital Europe, the Data Governance Board for Ireland’s Public Service and Fasttrack into IT.

He is a Chartered Engineer with a bachelor’s in engineering from University College Dublin and a master’s in environmental engineering from Virginia Tech, USA. Paul also holds a professional certificate in governance from the Institute of Public Administration and certificate in sustainable capitalism and ESG from UC Berkley.
