Child Safeguarding Statement
- Purpose, Services and Principles for Safeguarding Children and Young People from Harm
CEIA’S purpose in terms of engaging with young people is to encourage their interest and passion for STEM subjects and STEM career pathways.
We believe that the welfare and protection from harm of children and young people engaging in our activities is paramount. Our staff and adult volunteers take all reasonable care to ensure children and young people engaging in CEIA activities are protected from harm and abuse of any kind. Our commitment as outlined in our code of practice is based on the rights of children and young people to be treated with respect, listened to and to deal with any concerns they may have in a timely fashion.
- Risk Assessment
CEIA has completed an assessment of the potential for harm to children and young people that are engaged in organisation activities and maintain a risk register in relation to this. Harm in this context is related to assault, ill treatment or neglect of the young person or child.
