We are delighted to have:                                                                                   Cathal Reilly, Director of Engineering, address the group on Automation & Technology in the Medical Device Sector

Cathal joined Boston Scientific Cork in 1998 and is currently the Director of Engineering. He has held a number of key manufacturing and technical positions, most notably the Director of Manufacturing role for 6 years where his organisation had 1,300 employees at its peak. Cathal’s role involves the continued improvement in manufacturing technologies and practices, including the introduction of new products, to better serve the key customers and stakeholders of the Cork facility.

Prior to joining Boston Scientific, Cathal worked for 4 years with Tyco Sensormatic in Cork. Cathal hold an Engineering Degree from the University of Limerick and is an MBA graduate from University College Cork.

The Cork site was established in 1998 as part of the company’s manufacturing expansion plans, the site produces a diversified portfolio of products that serve several divisions of the corporation.  The site combines leading edge manufacturing technologies with the capability to quickly commercialise new products for its division customers. Major businesses supported include products manufactured for Peripheral Intervention, Endoscopy, and Interventional Cardiology.

Boston Scientific’s manufacturing philosophy is built around the core tenets of Quality, Empowerment, Teamwork and incorporates the principles of Lean and Six Sigma. There will be a brief plant tour as part of the business briefing.

After the presentations, there will be a networking opportunity with light refreshments served.
